A Thank You Note (OctPoWriMo Entry #16)

Thank you
for teaching me how
to have whole conversations
with myself, a monologue
of empty spaces where
you made words.

I’m sorry for my anger;
it sat with me in that vinyl booth
eating blackberry jam, buttered toast.

I’m not sorry I yelled at you.

Thank you for being
a mirror to my
future self.

Poet's Note:  Today's prompt was about the things we leave life, in relationships, etc.

  1. This searve up a myriad of emotions in such a short space. Loved it!

  2. Beautifully done, Anna. I feel the pain of the girl in the booth. Thank you. xoA
