Learning to Breathe (OctPoWriMo Entry #28)

Learning to Breathe

I don’t know who I am yet;
I’m still evolving,
solving the
dilemma of
gills, the chilling
realization that there are
sharks in the water.

Poet's Note:  The prompt was to write a poem about someone who helped to shape me.  It's a fantastic prompt but not one I'm prepared to address today.  But, in my own way, I responded to the prompt.

  1. Beautiful, Anna. Many of us don't know YET who we are. I love the image of the sharks in the water. They sure are. Thank you. xoA

    1. Thank you, Annis. Your comments always make me smile! :-)

  2. We always have to watch out for those sharks. I'm in the latter half of my life and still learning who I am. One thing I've learned is that the opinions of the sharks don't matter nearly as much as I allowed them to when I was younger.

    1. Give me some of your wisdom? Please? I'm learning but it's taking me a long long time. Thank you so much for reading and for your thoughtful comments. :-)

  3. The imagery in this poem is spectacular. I really felt these words...
