Grasping Serenity: A Poem

God Grant Me the Serenity
to understand Serenity,
to grasp with glib
certainty
fate.

Kinda late,
I suppose, to
consecrate the idea
of the insensate course
of time, the unflinching rhyme
of our footsteps shooshing in the sand,
oddly bland, like saltless tears upon the tongue.

Poet's Note:  I know I said I'd aim light...but this is as close as I could get...just aiming for serenity.  Lol!  One writes what the muse dictates.

  3. Yes... we write what the muse dictates. Love the shape here, especially.
