H is for...Hssssss!!!!

Hubris is a good word, a
sounded example
of itself, heavy
on breath
and lacking
hard consonants.

It doesn’t need them.

The cultured tongue must
weed them from conversation,
preservation of an ancient
dialect.

Hsssssss!

  3. I'm reminded of my singing teacher who would always tell us to "get the 'H' out of our voices to get the best sound possible.

Wouldn't it be something if life were just like that?

And don't words like hubris enable our love affair with words?
